The Sighting Claims
Every year, there is more and more sightings of Bigfoot around the United States. Below is a map of the supposed sightings that have happened around the United States. The sightings tend to be in highly wooded areas mostly in the Ohio, Washington, and Oregon areas. The usual problem with the sightings is there being not enough evidence or witnesses to the sighting of Bigfoot. Typically it is one or two people who see Bigfoot and they in turn tell other people. It is hard to get solid evidence off of a claim with so much doubt. Although there are a lot of crazy and unsupported Bigfoot claims everywhere, there are a few claims that are supported by evidence and could be pursued in the future ("Geographic Database...", "Three...").
From the Bigfoot believer's point of view, the sightings are a great representation of where all of the Bigfoot creatures are located. The believers want to believe the spread of the sightings shows where Bigfoot creatures are located. The problem with a Bigfoot sighing map is when one sighting is claimed, a large number of sightings develop in the area. Many people will come forward and say they had seen Bigfoot and had failed to mention it earlier. This scattered pattern in sightings creates doubt because of such a large spread. It is hard for the believers to prove they had truly seen Bigfoot in the forest.
Below is the link to a website which documents all sightings in the United States and even in some foreign countries. This site is constantly updating its information about sightings in all parts of the United States. They pull in data from newspapers or other credible sources and post the sighting on the site creating a credible site. Just based on the information on this site, it is obvious there are certain areas that are dense with Bigfoot sightings. That is why the site is a great resource for Bigfoot believers. Bigfoot believers look to see if they are close to an area with a high density of sightings. Believers are more likely to claim a sighting if they live in an area dense in supposed sightings ("Geographic Database...").
